When my burdens met Jesus.

Dear struggling girl,

There once was a girl who made a horrible decision. She clung to this choice and let it define every area of her life. For years she did this and couldn’t seem to let it go. One day someone decided they would care enough to ask what was troubling this girl. When she confessed the weight of the burden she had been carrying for so long, the tears wouldn’t stop flowing. This person encouraged her to do something she hadn’t done before: SURRENDER.

Maybe you have a testimony like mine. So much of that burden was not mine to carry. All I needed to do was leave it at the foot of the cross. The years I spent feeling guilty and ashamed were wasted years. I was not as useful to the Kingdom of Christ. I wasn’t willing to let God lead me because I couldn’t leave where I was.

Maybe you haven’t had a time in your life where you’ve hit your knees and begged for His forgiveness. Atonement is real. His grace IS enough. And His love heals. You won’t be able to raise your white flag once and call it quits. You may need to surrender your heart DAILY.

We serve a Savior who has the ability to wipe away every tear. Every weakness is made sufficient. Your identity does NOT lie in the mistakes that you’ve made. YOU are not your choices. You are defined by a God who loves you SO much that He nailed your sins to His cross. But that’s where they stay….the cross.

If you’re waiting to have a transformed life, it happens after you surrender. Are you tired of running and carrying the load of your sins all alone? He is waiting to restore your broken heart. He is waiting to unshackle the chains that are keeping you bound to Satan’s lies. YOU ARE MORE.
